About Cedar Grove Rocky Mountain Horse Farm

Our discovery of the Rocky Mountain Horse occurred in 1998. After much research and visiting numerous Rocky Mountain horse farms, our first Rockies arrived in 2000 at Cedar Grove Farm in Vermont. We are now in our eighteenth year breeding, raising, training, selling and showing these remarkable horses. Many of our horses are also registered as Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horses and several are also registered as Mountain Pleasure Horses. We are also able to ship fresh semen from our stallion, CGF Absolutely Incredible, for your own breeding program. As of May 2017 we have 15 Rocky Mountain horses. We had five foals born in 2014 and lots of photos of them are available on our blog, on Facebook, and on our Yearlings page. Click here to see a YouTube video of the birth of one of our foals. Our first foal of 2015 arrived June 15, and the second on June 28. Click here to view offspring of our stallion. Visit our Facebook page for the latest activities, photos, videos, interesting experiences, insights, and observations about our farm and our Rocky Mountain Horses.

Which Gait is for You?

Cedar Grove Farm is located in Peacham, Vermont which has been described as "the most photographed village in New England". Peacham, located in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, is comprised of Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties, a largely rural area of mountains, rolling farms, forested valleys and spectacular beauty.

The above article about our farm and our Rocky Mountain horses appeared in the October, 2010 issue of the North Star Monthly published in Danville, VT. Our thanks to Justin Lavely and The North Star Monthly!

The goal of our Rocky Mountain Horse farm is to preserve the characteristics of this wonderful, gentle, smooth-gaited breed through limited and selective breeding of exceptional stock. Training starts with imprinting our foals at birth and continues with natural horsemanship methods of ground training, driving, and under saddle training. Since we have only a few babies each year, we have the luxury of being able to give each of them personal hands-on training over several years. As a result, our under saddle horses for sale are experienced trail horses and wonderful companions. We enjoy our Rocky Mountain horses year round through trail riding, driving, and sleigh pulling while simultaneously enjoying the spectacular scenery of our rural village.
