The Rocky Mountain, Kentucky Mountain, and Mountain Pleasure Horses Cedar Grove Farm currently has available for sale are shown below. The overwhelming majority of our horses are placed with individuals looking for calm, smooth gaited, experienced trail horses. Although we have additional horses, they may not be available for sale at this time and are not shown on this page. However, as the saying goes: "Everything is for sale at the right price." All of our horses currently for sale were born here at our farm, imprinted at birth, and handled daily until two years of age using natural horsemanship methods to build trust and confidence. When initially started under saddle they are given lots of ground work such as flexing, bending, disengaging fore and hindquarters, desensitizing, obstacles, and short trail walks. At the end of their second year we begin work on gait for brief periods. It is in their third year that we focus on gait and extensive trail riding. We believe our approach provides the young horse with a more favorable opportunity to develop into a healthy, calm, trusting, smooth riding, willing, and life long experienced trail companion.
